Short Creek local Andrew Chatwin will lead a hike for anyone who’d like to join in hiking up Water Canyon a moderate level hike with through a water-filled canyon with waterfalls, flowing stream, narrow cliff walls and a chance to get to know your volunteer friends better.

Costs
1- Cost for the Service Projects Day for all volunteers is $20 and will cover all of your meals for Saturday and reserve your spot on a project team.

2- We will have lodging available for $25/night per person*, staying in the old FLDS school, now Margaret Cooke’s events center. The money will go directly to her for use of the space and she will use that money to continue to renovate the property. Volunteers will need to bring their own bedding and towels. There are bathrooms and showers on site, but volunteers will be cosleeping together. This is one of the funnest parts of the project. There are late night conversations and great friendships formed. We also have folks from the town come spend time there to share their stories.

*This is a set fee. It reserves your spot to lodge at the Mountainview school house. You do not need to lodge all the nights, but the fee is set.

3- The Sunday morning hike will be $15. All funds go to pay our tour guide, Andrew Chatwin. Chatwin has lived in the community and is responsible for helping capture Warren Jeffs. His work is brave and controversial and he’s risked everything for that cause and we like to support him this way. Please make sure to pay the fees with the PayPal Button below.

Everyone is welcome to find their own lodging, you might start looking at places in Hurricane, St. George, and we encourage you to check out the lodging options in Short Creek to support the local community!

Private lodging is available. If you would like to lodge on your own, we recommend trying : Zion’s Most Wanted or  Zion’s Cozy Cabins

4. If you know anyone who would like to offer any type of financial support, please send them this link and let them know what we will be up to in May! As you all know, we are completely donation based and would love to do a great job with the decor at the Dream Center. That means we need to buy or have donated all of the necessary supplies. Any help is appreciated by volunteers and community members alike!
